CSITC or GETEC 2024

UB students are showcasing their ingenuity at the 6th Edition of the Cameroon Student Ingenuity and Talent Contest known by its French acronym as GETEC. The competition is ongoing at the University of Douala – Campus 2 from 17th to 22nd June 2024.

UB is presenting 6 Prototypes and 2 Start-ups, having a composite of innovative, technological and multidisciplinary capabilities from the Faculties of Arts, Agriculture, Engineering and Science.

During the visit of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education to the UB exhibition stand (accompanied by UB’s Vice-Chancellor), the UB students demonstrated how knowledge gained from classrooms has been used to design and develop projects that provide alternative sources for better living conditions.

Make time to visit the UB exhibition stand and get first-hand knowledge of other sources of protein for animal feed, electrified mobility cane for the visually impaired, using plastic waste to produce fuel and domestic gas, the UB SPRING, textile transformation, foetal care and many more.

Evaluation of prototype and start-ups is scheduled for Thursday, 20th June during which they will answer questions from the Jury about the impact of the projects.
