Members of the DigiCare Cameroon Consortium organized a three-day symposium to revolutionize disease control and prevention in Cameroon through the power of Artificial Intelligence and the Digital One-health approach.

The symposium which began on Wednesday, 7th at the Faculty of Health Sciences will end on Friday, 9th August 2024.

During the opening ceremony of Wednesday, 7th August, the Principal Investigator of the DigiCare Cameroon Consortium, Professor Nsagha Dickson Shey gave a run-down of some the achievements of the DigiCare Cameroon Project after it was launched in November 2023. Prominent amongst them is the training of postgraduate students with skills and knowledge to prepare for, prevent and mitigate pandemics and epidemics.

Members of the Consortium from the University of Buea, the University of Ngaoundere and the Universite de Montagne in Bangangte were also introduced to the audience.

The symposium was an opportunity to showcase activities carried out by the DigiCare Project as well as other works on artificial intelligence and control of emerging and re-emerging diseases.

The symposium will end on Friday, 9th August with a presentation of certificates of participation to the participants.
