The three new Directors who were recently appointed by Presidential Decree on 10th July 2024 have been installed into their functions with a call to work together to build an inclusive campus for everyone.

The installation ceremony took place on Thursday, 25th July 2024 in the Dorothy Limunga Njeuma Amphitheatre in the presence of the entire University Community, friends and relatives of the appointees.

During the installation of these officials, Professor Ngomo Horace Manga, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Buea expressed profound gratitude to the Head of State, President Paul Biya for the creation of the Higher Teachers’ Training College (HTTC) in Buea and the appointment of a high profile woman of science as pioneer Director. The Vice-Chancellor also acknowledged the strong arguments and support put up by the Prime Minister Head of Government and the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education to justify the creation of the HTTC in Buea.

Then turning to the three new Directors, the VC gave each one of them specific directives according to their mandates. However on a general note, Professor Ngomo Horace Manga prescribed three cardinal obligations to them: “respect for hierarchy; loyalty to the institution and discretion in the execution of their duties”.

“The quality of leaders we get should reflect the leaders who produce them…let us all create an atmosphere of conviviality for all and sundry…”, said the VC.
