UB and ENAP Engage in a win-win Partnership

The University of Buea and the National School of Penitentiary Administration (ENAP) have entered a partnership agreement which lays down conditions for promoting educational, research and outreach activities.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on January 21st 2020 in the boardroom of the Central Administration at the University of Buea. The Vice-Chancellor in his opening remark, welcomed the initiative and expressed happiness that ENAP found it useful for UB to train its students, which is proof of the effectiveness and quality of training at UB. According to the VC, the partnership falls within UB´s mission of Teaching, Research and Outreach.

On his part, the Director of ENAP, General Mama Langmia commended UB´s effort and emphasised the necessity of such a partnership in the context of the present security concerns in the region.

The partnership agreement, includes, among other things, training for capacity building in identified areas of need, long or short term exchange of staff and students for training and research collaboration, the joint organisation of research projects, seminars, colloquia and other professional development activities of benefit to both institutions and the use of library, classroom space and other research facilities.

Both parties undertook to pursue regular exchange of their respective practices and methods in training, research and other fields of common interest as well as intensify discussions between their staff to look for solutions to problems of either or both parties.

The ceremony was attended by the cream of both ENAP and UB.
