In his discourse, which attracted a standing ovation, the guest speaker, Professor Samuel Kale Ewusi dwelled on the theme “Weaving Peace for African Youths Elements for Building Blocks for Peace.” The peace crusader from the United Nations University of Peace, Addis Ababa – Ethiopia, called on the graduates to be responsible citizens and play their role in weaving peace for the nation, in order to ensure economic growth. According to the professor, if you burn schools and prevent kids from going to school, you are an idiot. He encouraged the graduates to strife for peace and shun vices which do not contribute anything to nation building.
The convocation was attended by the cream of the Region, punctuated by the melodious voices of the University of Buea choir and graced by the Chaplains of the University with an inter-religious service.
