Showcasing an example of the Digital Economy Vision

The 7th Edition of the Technology Day recorded 15 registered projects from students of the Departments of Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The event was opened by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Internal Control and Evaluation (DVC/ICE) at the Open commons in the University of Buea. High school students from three different secondary schools around Buea were present. The Director of the College of Technology explained the History of the event, the mission and the various successes the program has earned in previous years.

A guided tour of all projects was led by the student leader of COT , who at each stand explained to the High School students and the general public the impact of each project.

A Committee of three juries each was formed in the various Departments to evaluate the various projects at the end of which results of students with the best design projects were proclaimed at the Premium Awards

The Premium Award Ceremony

The award ceremony took place at Saint Claire hotel on Friday, 6 December 2019 with several socio-cultural activities such as comedy, traditional dances, and fashion parades. Students whose projects were declared as the best were awarded prizes. The best mechanical project, best electrical and electronics projects and the best computer projects were all awarded prizes. Also, students with the best academic performance at the various levels were awarded special Certificates of Excellence. The award ceremony finally ended with the cutting of the cake and refreshment.
